Drei Worte für ein Ich, das sich selbst begegnet – und dabei die Welt nicht aus den Augen verliert.

ArtEve (since 1999) Eva-Maria Horstick is a German visual artist known for her dynamic, interdisciplinary approach that blends photography, installation, sculpture, performance, and new media. Born in Gescher and now based in Dortmund, she began engaging with photography at the age of ten, developing a deep fascination with the emotional and social power of images. She later studied Photo Design at the Fachhochschule Dortmund, where she refined her technical and conceptual foundations while exploring the intersection between human experience, visual storytelling, and contemporary culture.
Horstick’s artistic practice consistently moves beyond traditional photographic boundaries. Her projects often investigate perception, identity, and the complexities of modern life. Over the years she has expanded her creative language to include experimental installations, special sculptural work presented in Jerusalem 2023/4 and, most recently, AI-assisted visual production from her own archive. Her openness to emergent technologies reflects her belief that art must evolve with society while retaining a strong human and emotional core.
Her work has been exhibited internationally. A significant milestone was her participation in the 2018 exhibition “Photography Meets Manga” in Tokyo, where her visual narratives entered into dialogue with Japanese pop-culture aesthetics. The show introduced her work to a broader global audience and highlighted her ability to bridge cultural contexts through imagery. Sönke C. WEiSS
